# Vice President Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang Urges GNTDA Learners to Stay Focused and Embrace Technology **Vice President of Ghana, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, has encouraged learners at the GNTDA National Learners Conference to remain focused on their training, listen to their masters and continually develop their skills to prepare for the future.** Addressing learners at the **Ghana National Tailors and Dressmakers Association (GNTDA) National Learners Conference**, the Vice President used the perspective of a mother to encourage the young people to take their education and practical training seriously. Professor Opoku-Agyemang reminded the learners that the knowledge and skills they acquire through their training can become valuable assets for their future. ## “Stay Focused on What You Are Learning” The Vice President encouraged the learners to remain focused on what they are being taught by their masters and trainers. She emphasized the importance of paying attention to practical lessons and taking instructions seriously as they develop their skills in tailoring, dressmaking and fashion. For apprentices, the training they receive today can form the foundation for their professional careers tomorrow. The message was therefore aimed at encouraging the learners not to take their apprenticeship lightly, but to see every lesson and practical experience as an investment in their future. ## Skills That Nobody Can Take Away Professor Opoku-Agyemang also highlighted the lasting value of acquiring a skill. The learners were encouraged to understand that once they genuinely learn a trade and develop competence in it, the knowledge can remain with them throughout their lives. This can give young people a foundation upon which they can build careers, establish businesses and create opportunities for themselves and others. Her message encouraged the learners to value the opportunity they have to learn from experienced masters and to make the most of their apprenticeship. ## Adding Technology to Traditional Skills Another important part of the Vice President’s message was the need for learners to embrace **modern technology** and add it to the skills they are acquiring. The fashion industry continues to change, with technology influencing areas such as fashion design, marketing, communication, business management, garment production and customer engagement. For young tailors and dressmakers, combining traditional practical skills with modern technology can open new possibilities. Learners can explore digital tools and platforms that can help them promote their work, communicate with customers, showcase designs and develop their businesses. ## Preparing for the Future of Fashion The Vice President’s advice comes at a time when young people in Ghana’s fashion industry are being encouraged to develop both technical and entrepreneurial skills. The GNTDA National Learners Conference provides a platform for learners from different parts of Ghana to interact, learn and gain exposure to new ideas. By encouraging learners to remain focused while also embracing technology, Professor Opoku-Agyemang highlighted the importance of preparing for a changing professional environment. ## A Motherly Message to the Learners Describing herself as a mother, the Vice President used a motherly approach in speaking to the young learners. Her message centred on the familiar principle that parents and mentors encourage their children to learn, remain focused and prepare themselves for the future. For the GNTDA learners, the advice was to take their training seriously, respect the guidance of their masters and continue adding new knowledge to their existing skills. ## Building the Next Generation of Ghanaian Fashion Professionals The Vice President’s message reinforces the importance of combining **discipline, practical skills, continuous learning and technology** in preparing young people for the future. For the learners attending the GNTDA conference, the lessons they receive today can become part of the foundation for their careers tomorrow. As they continue their apprenticeship journeys, staying focused and being willing to learn new technologies can help them adapt to opportunities in Ghana’s evolving fashion and garment industry. ### GNTDA National Learners Conference 2026 The **GNTDA National Learners Conference 2026** brings together learners and apprentices from different regions of Ghana for training, networking, social engagement and entrepreneurial development. The conference is taking place at the **KNUST Campus in Kumasi from 23rd to 27th September 2026**. Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang’s message adds to the conference’s emphasis on equipping young learners with the knowledge, confidence and skills needed to contribute to Ghana’s fashion industry. — ### SEO Information **Focus Keyphrase:** Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang GNTDA learners **SEO Title:** Vice President Urges GNTDA Learners to Stay Focused and Embrace Technology **Meta Description:** Vice President Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang encourages GNTDA learners to stay focused, listen to their masters and add technology to their fashion skills. **Suggested URL Slug:** `vice-president-naana-jane-gntda-learners-technology` **Category:** GNTDA News / Fashion Education / Youth Empowerment **Tags:** Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, GNTDA, GNTDA National Learners Conference, Ghana fashion learners, fashion apprentices Ghana, fashion education, technology and fashion, tailoring and dressmaking, Ghana fashion industry **Featured Image Alt Text:** Vice President Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang addressing GNTDA learners at the National Learners Conference **Suggested Social Media Headline:** **Vice President Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang Urges GNTDA Learners to Stay Focused and Embrace Technology
